There is a new ministry to students on college and university campuses that is beginning here in the Eastern Ontario District. This ministry was started as a response to the Mission Canada emphasis that has come from our national leadership. It is a missionary endeavor that will take place within the borders of our own district, rather than overseas. Campus Ministries will provide pastoral care and discipleship for those students who come from our churches to attend the various campuses across the district. The aim is to equip these students to live out their faith in the challenging and often hostile environment of the post-secondary institution. It is the further aim that, as these students live the Christian life on campus, they begin to influence those around them. In this manner the Gospel will be spread. One of the unique aspects of this ministry is that EOD Campus Ministries will intentionally connect with local PAOC churches. Both the students’ home churches and the local churches near the various schools will be included as the ministry is established.
